Susan McLellan Plaisted, Proprietress of Heart to Hearth Cookery, will be at the Bouman-Stickney Farmstead for a hands-on ice cream program for the entire family! Ice cream will be made in a reproduction 18th-century sabotiere. To get the most hands-on experience, arrive at 1:00 pm to help prepare the ice, turn the sabotiere, and try just a taste. Documented 18th-century flavors will be reproduced using original receipts (recipes).

Although there is no fee, donations are gladly welcome. In case of inclement weather, please call the Museums to find out the status of the program.

Put on your dancing shoes for a night of family fun as the Readington Museums host their biannual Barn Dance on May 9 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The dance will take place inside the eighteenth-century Wade-Wyckoff Barn at the Bouman-Stickney Farmstead, located at 114 Dreahook Road in the Stanton section of Readington Township (for GPS use, use Lebanon). This family-friendly event is a wonderful way to enjoy time together with family. Caller Betsy Gotta will provide simple instructions before each dance, allowing even beginners to dance the night away.
There is a suggested donation of $5.00 per adult and $2.00 per child. Refreshments will also be available for an additional $1.00 donation. For groups of six or more, please call for a reservation.

Friday Mornings at the Museum: A Hands-on History Children’s Program at the Readington Museums
The Readington Museums is pleased to announce Friday Mornings at the Museum, a hands-on summer program for children ages 7 to 12, on the following Fridays – July 10, 17, 24, and Aug. 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bouman-Stickney Farmstead, 114 Dreahook Road, Lebanon. Each session includes making history-inspired crafts such as candles, tin designs, pomanders, and ink. Children will also learn to write with a quill pen, play historic games, and learn an English country dance. The cost per child per day is $10.00.
